Women's Progress, 10 Years Later

Ten years ago, the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women met in Beijing, China. Now, delegates are gathering in New York City to review the progress made since 1995. Among the discussion points is the fact that the United States is refusing to re-sign onto the Beijing Platform For Action, a plan to promote and protect women's and human rights. The United States also has not affirmed the United Nations women's treaty—from 1979.
