Thank Or Spank?

March 17, 2005

On Wednesday, 50 U.S. senators voted to reject the Bush Social Security privatization scam. All Democratic senators were joined by five Republicans to vote for a resolution that "Congress should reject any Social Security plan that requires deep benefit cuts or a massive increase in debt." They deserve a thank-you. But this battle is far from over! Half of the Senate actually voted in favor of "deep benefit cuts or a massive increase in debt." It's an important barometer of the Bush plan's support in the Senate—split right down the middle. The Campaign for America's Future wants them to hear from you, too.
