Support REAL Sex EdApril 01, 2005The Bush administration just unveiled a new website for parents to help them talk about sex with their teenagers. But the site includes information that's not medically correct—like the fact that condom effectiveness is dependent on a person's lifetime number of sexual partners. It also lists only the failure rates of contraceptives—and doesn't explain how to use them responsibly. To make smart decisions, teenagers desperately need sex information that's accurate. That's why Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., introduced the Responsible Education About Life (REAL) Act. It would provide federal funding for complete sex ed that includes information about both abstinence and contraception. Join NARAL Pro-Choice America and urge your senator to support the REAL Act.
