When Alberto Gonzales made recommendations on torture in 2002 that ignored established U.S. military policy, some former military leaders took notice. Recognizing that trivializing the Geneva Conventions isn't just bad PR, but also bad for our soldiers abroad, these retired officers have come together with Human Rights First to express grave doubts about the attorney general nominee and to demand to know where he stands on enforcing both U.S. and international law.
