Shame On Schwab

April 06, 2005

The bigwigs at Charles Schwab claim that they haven't taken a stance on Social Security privatization, but the AFL-CIO knows that's a lie.  While other financial services companies have stopped lobbying for privatization in response to public outrage, the AFL-CIO reports that, "Schwab belongs to, funds and even takes leadership roles in several of the business groups pouring money into the fight to privatize Social Security ."  Beyond these lobbying efforts, Charles Schwab himself—the company CEO—has voiced his support for privatization.  Join the AFL-CIO in letting the folks at Schwab know that they should be ashamed of themselves for telling us one thing while doing the opposite. ACT NOW
