The idea that liberalism has beaten conservatism, or that America is not an inherently conservative country is one of the most intellectually dishonest political positions I have ever heard.
Look at the history of this country, founded on the principles of hard work, self-reliance, freedom from government intrusion, faith and the entrepreneurial spirit. Every single one of those facets is discouraged, scorned or taxed with endless impunity whenever liberals get the opportunity.

Without question, your op-ed was one of the most idiotic articles I have read in some time, and I have read some real dumb ones on your web site. You posess a child-like level of knowledge as to what a corporation is in existence for. A corporation cannot survive if the corporation doesn't deliver goods and services desired by customers to those customers in a competitive manner. If they don't, they die. Take an economics class before you reveal yourself as a bigger fool than you are already exposing yourself as.
And why in the hell don't you quit Tom Paine.com, as a matter of principle? Tom Paine.com is surely a corporation or the equivalent (e.g., an LLC). Head for the Alaskan wilderness, and see how well you do. You won't find evil corporations there. But leave the gun and knife behind, as they were probably made by those evil corporations.

Join the real world Mr. Dubro. All those so called advantages you mentioned are false. Sure we have hundreds of TV channels, but we regularly only watch about ten unless we are hoplessly addicted to 300 informertials on any Saturday or Sunday morning.
And obiously you don't travel much and pay for your own tickets or you would not consider Airline tickets cheap. Try changing a flight within a week of departure. Or worse yet try to transfer a ticket.
Not many of us former middle class workers can visit Ruths steak house or have beach houses.
