It makes sense to take the advice of those who know better than you , and that's exactly what the Bush administration didn't do when planning the invasion and occupation of Iraq, say 500 security scholars in an open letter to the American public. The signatories, organized by the group Security Scholars For Sensible Foreign Policy, include six of the past seven presidents of the American Political Science Association and security-policy and Middle Eastern studies experts from 150 universities and colleges. The letter calls U.S. policy in Iraq "the most misguided one since Vietnam," and argues that it actually sets back the fight against Islamic extremism. SEE THE LETTER
