The Democratic National Platform

The 2004 Democratic National Platform Committee Report is more interesting when you look at what's missing—not what's included. For starters, this platform is the first in 20 years to not include support for capital punishment. While Clinton and Gore supported the death penalty, Kerry does not—and the platform was changed to stay in line with his views. Then there's the environmental platform. It lacks a strong action plan against big polluters, instead opting for things like "partnerships" with polluting industries. SEE THE DOCUMENT
